Junior CAD Technician / Technical Coordinator
REPORTS TO: HEAD OF PLANNING
The Company
Cambridge Power Ltd was established in 2018 to develop, construct and operate grid-scale battery storage and solar assets to support the UK’s transition to low-carbon technology and target Net Zero by 2050. Battery storage is an integrated part of the solution to capture the full benefits of renewable power generation; when the sun shines or wind blows it is not necessarily when power is required, batteries provide the means for this to be stored and used at the point there is energy demand on the grid.
The business today owns a pipeline of development opportunities which are at various stages of maturity. Our first site, which was developed for a leading UK plc, was energised and became operational in January 2022 and becomes one of the small number of operational battery assets supporting the National Grid in balancing system demand. Our first project to be constructed by own project team will break ground in 2023 and operational in 2024.
In January 2022, the company announced a partnership with leading global renewable sector investor, Brookfield Renewables, to develop an initial pipeline of 800MW of battery and 100MW of solar assets. Our vision is to become a leading operator of renewable assets and the new partnership provides the resources to enable this to be delivered.
