Cambridge Power Ltd, backed by Pigeon Investment Management Ltd, has entered into a development agreement to deliver 400 MW of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The first site, comprising a 50MW BESS has been fully consented and sold, with further sales to follow shortly.
Cambridge Power Ltd has identified a pipeline of BESS and solar sites, the majority of which already have secured grid connections and are being submitted for planning approval, and is working with landowners to identify further sites.
Battery storage will produce more flexible electricity output in strategic locations, many of which are currently constrained, and also provide auxiliary services and stability to the grid helping to bring low-cost, low-carbon power to communities throughout the UK.
The development partnership enables Pigeon to access new markets, and deliver energy solutions which enhance its core development activities.
